Nikita 3D Model Project
Sorry I haven't been posting, been busy, and I haven't practised drawing seriously for a week! :(I've decided to do a 3D model of my Blythe doll Nikita.
I used Dave K's tutorial.
The mesh I drew for a guide.
My WIP:
For some reason I'm Maya phobic. Maybe because Maya lollipops on the Mac?3D is so intimidating for me :(.
If you are a DMD student, join in the modelling fun here!

The Value of Value Studies

For Digital Matte painting class, 12 value studies on perspective and atmospheric perspective. Have yet to complete them! I was too slow really. Mostly today I just drew this the whole day for like 6 hours straight then another 2 hours of sketch.I am planning to go for Drawing classes 4 times a week, Regular class on Monday, Sketch Group on Tuesdays, Thursdays with Ms Grace and crashing Calvin Tan's second class on Friday. Sounds super kiasu but i think the only way to improve is to draw more, stop the ugly habits from forming and get LOADS OF CRITIQS. So far i still feel my work is BULLCRAP really, still have to work harder. No more "nice" stuff, because "nice" doesn't really cut it anymore.
I'm addicted to drawing/ sketching.

Sketch on a Platter
DOLCI, CarloSalome with the Head of St John the Baptist
1665-70
Oil on canvas, 122,6 x 96,5 cm
Royal Collection, Windsor
AAAH. Bad sketch. I didn't really know what i was doing. :(
Plus the story of John the Bapist and Salome is freaky.
I love how it's a "night lit scene", similar to Caravagio's style or high contrast.
We did lots of outdoor sketching for drawing class today. New obvious tip from MR Calvin i hadn't really been aware of: when drawing subject A, position A to left or right of field of vision, ( people tend to escape when they realized they are being drawn. Singaporeans mostly), and pretend to look at B, whilst stealing secret glances at A, of course.Haha, no wonder my subjects run away so fast.

David's Hands Part 1
Michelangelo (1475-1564)David's hand [detail]
Marble, 1504
Galleria dell'Accademia, Florence
This is the best I can do in around half an hour! I seem to make him fatter also. There are so many details in hands, that's why i love drawing hands! Micahelangelo's David detail's are so amazing...
I will probably continue this tomorrow, I see so many flaws.
